General Hospital's James Patrick Stuart drops his first album, titled The Apple Tree

Fans are going to go bananas over The Apple Tree, the first music album by General Hospital star James Patrick Stuart (Valentin Cassadine).

If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, then imagine how much good an entire apple tree could do. Lots and lots of good, which is why the title of General Hospital star James Patrick Stuart's (Valentine Cassadine; ex-Will Cortlandt, All My Children) new album, The Apple Tree, is apt.

Stuart took to social media with a teaser trailer about his album, which fans can purchase -- autographed -- for just $20, plus $3.50 shipping. And remember all that good we mentioned above? It wasn't just hypothetical: Stuart promises that the proceeds from his album sales will go to the Alzheimer's Association, a voluntary health organization that aims to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

As GH fans have seen at events like the Nurses Ball, Stuart has a lot of musical talent in addition to his acting talent. His father, Chad, was one-half of the 1960s British Invasion duo Chad & Jeremy, which meant Stuart spent much of his childhood in recording studios. The apple didn't fall far from the proverbial tree -- by age fourteen, Stuart was recording with Chad -- and The Apple Tree is said to be a tribute to his father.

Digital Journal gave The Apple Tree an A-rating, saying the "stunning" album "is a must for any fans of actor James Patrick Stuart or anybody interested in listening to a collection of well-crafted soft rock and adult contemporary music."

For more information and to purchase The Apple Tree, check out Stuart's official website. The album is also available on Spotify and -- appropriately enough -- Apple Music.
